(WEBINAR) Student Reflections on Online Learning: Reviewing Results & Recommendations from the Arts Student Online Learning Survey – Date TBD

Please note: this event has been postponed and a new date will be set soon.

At the end of the 2020W term, a survey was conducted to gather feedback from Arts students on their remote learning experiences. The goals of this survey were to find out what factors created a successful online learning environment and determine which online learning activities should be continued.

From this feedback, Arts ISIT created recommendations for instructors to consider when setting up their online and in-person courses. Over 3,500 students participated, making this survey a valuable source of information about how best to engage students and create effective learning environments across diverse Arts disciplines, such as Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Visual/Performing Arts and professional programs.

This session will be led by Laura Moss, Arts Associate Dean, Students, in collaboration with Meena Kahlon, Learning Designer and Renata Jurica, Senior Data Analyst from Arts ISIT, and will review the results of this student survey, while sharing suggestions around building a successful learning environment and effective assessment and feedback structures.

Learning outcomes

  • Discover what kinds of lecture delivery methods, discussion activities, and classroom environments best support student engagement in the learning process
  • Discover what kind of assessments (i.e., assignments, quizzes, projects, practice tests, exams) and grading practices best help students in different disciplines achieve their learning goals
  • Hear student feedback around making effective use of learning technologies in the classroom

Join this session to learn more about Arts student feedback on their online learning experiences and to discuss best practices for setting up courses in the upcoming 2021W semesters.

Date to be determined.
