Collaboration

Enhance Collaborative Work with UBC Microsoft 365 :

With the UBC wide adoption of Microsoft 365, faculty and staff can look forward to taking advantage of the multiple solutions MS Apps offers to facilitate communication within departments or the classroom. This session will focus on preparing participants to make use of collaborative versions of multiple productivity software, including:

  • Microsoft Teams for organizing group and direct chat/video calls
  • OneDrive for sharing files
  • Word for document creation
  • PowerPoint for slideshow presentations
  • Excel for spreadsheets
  • OneNote for organized notetaking

Communication is the foundation of teamwork and this tool aims to promote interactions within the classroom and beyond. In this workshop, we will provide a live demo on how to setup Microsoft 365 and explore its different functionality so that you may adapt it to your own specific department/classroom needs.

Teaching on Zoom:

Zoom is a video conferencing application that can be used to conduct live online lectures and have meetings with your students. Features that will allow you to engage with your students remotely include: screen sharing, a virtual interactive whiteboard, polling, feedback through reactions, chat and breakout rooms for smaller discussions.

In this one-hour webinar, participants will learn the skills and best practices for having meaningful classroom interactions using Zoom.  We will also provide a walkthrough on how Zoom integrates with Canvas.
